On Cue Players - Randy Tait

Randy was born and raised in the Lower Mainland and got his University training at UBC. In 1977 he moved to Burns Lake to take his first teaching job. After four years in Burns Lake he moved to Kitimat in September of 1981 and has lived here ever since. He is married to his beautiful wife Darlene and has a 12 year old son Mathias.

Randy always had an interest in theatre and did a bit as a teenager. However, his first significant involvement in the theatre was with On-Cue Players when he first moved to Kitimat. He has been fortunate to be involved in a number of plays over the years, usually in a comic role, which he enjoys immensely. His most memorable role was as Felix in the On-Cue production of the Odd Couple in 1987.

Other plays that Randy has had parts in include Dream Lover in 1982, the Pantomime, Cinderella in 1985 and a more serious role in Return of the Maniac in 1988. Through the 1990's and into the 21st century Randy has also acted in Shut your Eyes and Think of England, Out of Order, The Bingo Queen and My Darling Judith. He is happy to be involved his present role as Giggles in the panto, The Old Lady in the Shoe. The role provides Randy with an outlet for his creative energy for a comic character. He enjoys the camaraderie with the whole cast and crew.

Ever since being in Kitimat, Randy has helped On-Cue with other projects including many Cabaret nights in the 80's, booths at July 1st celebrations and Front of House services which his wife Darlene has often organized. He also served as On-Cue's treasurer from 1988 to 1998. Randy looks forward to many more years of active participation in theatre in Kitimat.
